Israel Najera, Jr., Ph.D.

Member of the Board of Directors

Dr. Israel Nájera, Jr. earned his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology (APA approved) from The Ohio State University and has Masters degrees in both Counseling and Guidance and Counseling & Consulting Psychology from Pan American University and Harvard University, respectively. He specializes in marriage and family and educational counseling.

Dr. Nájera served as a senior staff member with the Texas State University Counseling Center and has previously been employed as a public school teacher and guidance counselor. Dr. Nájera is also a former Texas School Board member. He has also been employed as a university adjunct faculty member in the fields of education and psychology. He also worked as a counselor and licensed child care administrator in residential treatment centers in Texas.

Dr. Nájera has conducted numerous presentations in the areas of multicultural sensitivity, mental health, leadership development and college student adjustment. Dr. Nájera has worked with clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds including different religions, races/ethnicities, sexual orientations, and persons with disabilities.
